The concept for the stamps was to honor some of the Black artists that won Grammys in 2021 through illustrations of iconic imagery related to them. For Lil Nas X and H.E.R. this was through objects: sunglasses and a cowboy hat. For Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion it was prints: feathers from Doja’s Grammys skirt and bandana print similar to one of Megan’s album covers. This works for the US Postal Service because the objects and prints are minimal enough that they can go on such a small surface and still work.
